                PEACE, WAR AND THE AFTERMATH

PEACE, WAR AND THE AFTERMATH encompasses European history between 1901 and 1957, presented through the lives of the Erdelyi family.

The tranquility of rural and urban lives were changed by the First World War (1914-1919), followed by the 1920 Peace Treaties that re-drawn borders and displaced millions of people, then by the Great Depression of the 1930s. Then came the Second World War (1939-1945) and at the end, Eastern Europe was swallowed up by Soviet Russia, installing communist regimes in its Satellite countries.

YUKON, Land of the Midninght Sun

The Yukon Territory of Canada was put on the map by the late 19th Century Gold Rush (Klondike). The increased air travel, in the 1930s, began to solidify the Territory's fame.

During the Second World War (WWII), the Military Highway was built and, when it was turned over to civilian traffic, the paddle-boats that plied the treacherous waters of the Yukon river were dry-docked. The post-war influx of European immigrants helped change the face of this once frontier land.

WALK 20 MILES IN MY MOCCASINS

WALK 20 MILES IN MY MOCCASINS is a collection of essays. The author lived on two continents under four very different political systems. The life expereiences he gained allow him to make comparison between varied political systems.

His intent is to educate but it does not prevent him from being critical of the ills of modern societies, whether it is political correctness, sciences and or beaurocratic bunglings. In some of his essays he provides context for some of the little-known historical information.
